Since the Incas never developed a system of writing, archaeologists must study myths and legends and the artifacts they left behind for clues about the ancient Inca civilization. So I wonder how they would remember certain things that were important to them that they had to remember. But they did have their own way of communicating to each other by "quipus".
Quipus is basically a rope that has many other ropes tied to it with knots in a certain order in a certain spot and that was some kind of communication.
